Arts at the Farm

We converted a garden building in the middle of the Northlands Urban Farm into “The Red Shed Gallery” for Alberta Cultural Days. I exhibited paintings from my Urban Garden series in the space. Some of the source material for the paintings was photographed at the farm the year before. People entered from the side of the large acre garden in the centre of the city, and the doors of the shed were propped open so that the gallery was the first thing they saw as they entered the Urban Farm. It was so appropriate to have the art in this setting surrounded by the plants, bees and flora of the farm. Thank you to the gardeners, Northlands and Epcor for sponsoring this event that featured many art performances and exhibitions and gardening workshops.
